Zam Wesell was a female Clawdite bounty hunter who lived during the last years of the Galactic Republic. As a Clawdite, Wesell possessed the ability to physically alter her appearance. Being a “Changeling,” helped her and Jango Fett on several jobs until her death.

For 501st membership, only the requirements in black need to be met.
The Bounty Hunters’ Guild defines an additional optional level of costuming excellence. In the page below, requirements for Level 2, referred to as “Infamous”, are listed in blue. These optional requirements are meant for those who strive to meet the highest level of screen accuracy. Please visit the BHG web site for a full description of these standards.

This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.
- This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Details on construction may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum.
- GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum.
- Measurements given in this document are intended to be approximate and generalized; not criteria for approval.
- Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.
- Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. GML's and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume.

| Required Costume Components
|
|
The following costume components are present and appear as described below.
|
|
|
|
Helmet
- Made of a solid material such as metal, fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- Helmet is silver in color with darker silver weathering in the detail lines and symbols to match visual references.
- Binoculars are stripped down parts of old Bushnell 10x25 binoculars or similar prop replicas.
- Binocular assembly rests atop the helmet and connects to the side ear cups with a silver metal armature that zig-zags along the helmet, matching the reference photos.
- Helmet ear-cups have tabs for connecting the veil on both sides.
- A purple-brown brim, made of leather or leather-like material, fits snugly around the entire helmet.
- A black ribbed hose covers the back of the helmet underside from ear-cup to ear-cup.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
- Brim of helmet is real leather.
- Dome is made of metal.
- The helmet is weathered to match visual references as closely as possible.

|
|
Veil
- Outer veil is made of soft suede leather or similar fabric.
- Veil is colored a dusty plum to dark lavender similar to PMS 5125C.
- Veil has an inside lining of a red satin fabric that does not show when the veil is in the up position.
- Stitching of the lining is minimal to reduce stitches on the outside of the veil.
- Veil has gathered seams near the upper corner of both sides of the veil, resulting in a V-shaped crease in the veil.
- Veil attaches to both sides of the helmet, but can be detachable to hang from one side.

- Outer Veil material is made of suede leather.
- Lining is satin or silk.
- Veil attaches to the left side of the helmet.

|
Chest Armor Assembly
- The entire assembly system is connected, maintaining alignment while allowing flexibility.
CHEST ARMOR
- The chest armor is made of a solid material such as metal, fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- There are small visible gaps between the different pieces, showing the vest underneath.
- The armor curves at the wearer’s shoulders and then curves again at the bust.
- The armor is weathered silver to match helmet with detailed script in the middle.
HOSE
- The hoses are brown or black in color and ribbed.
- The chest armor has U-shape in the bottom to fit the hose attachment.
- The hose attachment is a weathered silver oval shape with detailed cones on each side.
- The hoses attach to the vest via a coupling similar to the visual references.
- The Coupling has ribbing in between four evenly spaced tabs.
STOMACH ARMOR
- The stomach armor is made of leather or leather-like material and is dark purple/brown in color.
- The stomach armor has u-shaped openings in the top and bottom to fit the other pieces.
- The stomach armor has two layers, with the inside/top layer matching the overall shape of the bottom layer.
LOWER ATTACHMENTS
- The lower parts are made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- The crescent moon piece sits below the stomach armor in a curved opening.
- The horseshoe piece has horizontal lines from one end to the other with horizontal lines on both sides intersecting.
- The horseshoe piece has holes on either end for placement of the Ovary Pieces.
- The Ovary pieces are silver in color to match helmet, with some slight purple tint and is double sided.
- The ovary pieces freely hang.
- The ovary pieces have a raised middle section, with downward curving lines and a ribbed texture around the raised middle section.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
- The chest armor has recessed Mabari inscription on both pieces.
- The hoses are long enough to create a half circle before attaching to the vest but does not stick out further than the width of the body.
- The crescent piece has a hammered detailed look to it.
- The ovary pieces are double sided.

|
Jumpsuit
- Jumpsuit is colored a dusty plum to dark lavender similar to PMS 2055C, and is within the color range seen in the reference photos.
- Jumpsuit is made of neoprene, lycra or similar material that is backed to provide thickness.
- Jumpsuit has decorative bubbled seams often referred to as “welt seams” or “pintuck seams” running from the shoulder to the wrist on each arm as well as down the outer seam of the pants.
- The jumpsuit also has decorative saddle seams on the inside of the pants on both front and back.
- Jumpsuit is form fitting, with some room for movement in the elbows and knees.

Cape
- Cape is made of soft suede leather or similar fabric, matching the Veil.
- Cape is colored a dusty plum to dark lavender similar to PMS 5125C, and matches the Veil.
- Cape attaches in front to a cape seal.
- Cape Seal is silver, and has a yin/yang design that matches the reference photos.
- Cape Seal is made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- Cape seal is weathered in the recesses.
- Cape is rounded in the back and gathers to a narrow point to attach under the cape seal.

- Cape material is the same material as Veil.
- Cape seal paint and weathering matches the helmet.

|
Vest
- Vest is leather or leather-like material.
- Vest is colored a dusty plum to dark lavender similar to PMS 2055C, and matches the Jumpsuit.
- Shoulder bells or flaps fold up and tie to the top of the vest in between the shoulder and the neck.
- The front of the vest has a zipper closure.
- The sides of the vest are laced together through eyelets or grommets.
- The vest is tucked neatly into the cummerbund.
- The vest is comfortably snug but not too tight or too baggy.
- The vest is weathered to match visual references as closely as possible.

- Vest is made of leather.
- Side laces are the same coloring as the vest.

|
Gauntlets
- Gauntlets are made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- Gauntlets are silver in color to match helmet, with appropriate weathering to match visual references.
- Gauntlets are overall short, allowing significant space for the elbow to bend.
- They do not have obvious seams, with the closures being hidden, except for hinges on the underside.
LEFT
- Left gauntlet has a leather cuff on the elbow side of the gauntlet.
- The cuff is covered with thin leather or leather like material.
- There is an oval opening on the outer edge of the cuff with a black ribbed material inside the opening.
- The color of the cuff is dark purple brown.
RIGHT
- Right gauntlet is shorter than the left gauntlet.
- Right gauntlet has an edge/trim on the elbow side covered with thin leather.
- Leather is dark purple brown in color.
- The right gauntlet has a greeblie on the bottom side that looks like a caterpillar.
- The leather trim wraps around the caterpillar then goes back to the edge of the gauntlet.

- Right and left gauntlet has recessed Marabi inscriptions that match the screen used costume
- both Gauntlets have wrapped leather.

|
Left Arm Piece
- Arm piece is made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- The arm piece is silver or gold on the top and bottom with a blue or turquoise color in the middle, with a “V-shaped” twisted lace that appears to hold the top and bottom sections together.
- Arm piece is attached to the left arm and is connected around the arm with two pieces of leather or leather like lacing that matches the Veil and Cape.

- Lace is leather.
- The lace strapping matches the lacing on the sides of the vest.
- Laces are weathered.
- The top and bottom sections have a hammered detailed appearance.

Gloves and Hand Armor
- Gloves are smooth, purple or grayish leather or leather like material.
- Gloves are form fitting and tucked into the gauntlets.
- Hand-plates and Thumb-plates are made of a solid material.
- Hand-plates roughly resemble the shape of a hand and the middle “finger” is the longest.
- Thumb-plates are oval in shape with a line dissecting a slope on each side.
- Hand-plates and Thumb-plates are weathered to match the visual references.
- Gloves are weathered.

|
Cummerbund and Accessories
- Cummerbund is made of padded leather or leather-like material
- Cummerbund roughly matches the vest in color.
- There are 4 rows, separated by stitching in between the rows.
- It is two separate pieces, laced up and connected by black lace hooks or speed hooks in the back and on the right hip under the holster.
- There is a grommet or eyelet in the middle of the front of the cummerbund used to secure the ovary pieces so that they do not float too far from the body.
BOTTLE
- The bottle greeblie is made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS and is roughly the shape of a bottle or a rounded flask.
- It is bronze or gold in color and it is approximately the height of the cummerbund.
- The bottle ties to the cummerbund with lace in between the holster and the ovary piece.
OVAL PIECE
- Left oval greeblie is made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- The Oval Piece is silver and gold in color matching visual references.
- It is the shape of an oval, wider than the ovary pieces and not as tall as the cummerbund.
- It is connected to the cummerbund with two purple leather straps.
- It sits between the ovary pieces and the left hip piece.
BEADS
- The beads are black in color, and made of plastic, metal, or other sturdy material.
- Bead Chain is long enough to loop twice, and then hang down to the thigh.
LEFT HIP
- Left hip piece is made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- It is silver in color with blue highlights.
- It is approximately the height of the cummerbund or a little smaller.
- It is flat on the top and curved on the bottom.
- The left hip piece attaches to the cummerbund with leather lace.

- There are 80-85 beads on the chain.
- Laces are leather and weathered to match visual references.
- Beads are metal.

|
Holster
- The holster is made of brown leather and darker than most of the suit.
- It has a curved shape that matches the reference photos.
- The top folds over the cummerbund and snaps with two black snaps that are diagonally set in.
- The holster has two layers plus five strips of leather on the top layer.

|
|
Skirt
- The skirt is made of thick leather or leather like material.
- The skirt is comprised of approximately 144 to 168 individual squares but can vary depending on the wearer’s height and waist size.
- From the top of the skirt to the bottom of the skirt, the squares increase in width by row, to result in a trapezoid shape when the skirt is laid flat.
- The squares are individually colored and dyed. The square colors are not uniform and vary from brown to lavender. Overall skirt color is lavender brown in appearance.
- The squares are laced together with leather lace.
- Each row of squares is slightly overlapped by the row below it.
- The skirt hangs to approximately the back of the wearer’s knees.
- The top of the skirt is underneath the cummerbund and/or vest is not visible.

|
Universal Key/Leg Knife
- Sheath is made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- Roughly resembles the shape of a very short knife sheath.
- It is colored a variety of blues, greens, purples, and browns.
- The sheath attaches to the wearer’s left leg approximately mid-thigh by a purple colored, leather or leather-like strap which is tied in the back.

Shin Armor
- The shin armor is made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- They are tightly wrapped with thin, smooth leather or leather like material.
- The leather is dark purple in color and darker than most of the suit.
- They are below the knees in height and come to a point in the front. There is a ridge in the front of the shins at both, the top and bottom of the shin armor.
- The shins flare out towards the ankles and roughly follow the contours of the leg.
- The back of the shins have three evenly vertical spaced black snaps, though these snaps can be entirely cosmetic and non-functional.
- There are small screws on each side of the ankles, to allow connection of the foot armor.

- Shin Armor freely moves with the boot at the ankle.
- Shin Armor is wrapped in leather.

|
Boots
- The boots are Prada "like" with a Vibram rubber sole and no visible labels.
- The sole is curvy and organic looking with a cross-hatch pattern on the bottom of the sole, spilling a little bit up into the sides of the sole.
- The boots are dark brown.
- The top of the boot has two lavender panels, separated by a strip of dark brown or black in the middle and are weathered to match visual references.

Foot Armor
- The foot armor is made of a solid material such as fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- The curve over the wearer’s shoe, but under the shin armor.
- The sides of the foot armor are curved to match the sole of the shoes.
- The top of the foot armor has approximately 6 small recessed notches.
- The armor is weathered to match visual references.

- The foot armor attaches to the Shin Armor and moves freely.

|
Toe Armor
- The toe armor is made of a solid material such as metal, fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- They are silver in color to match the helmet, with appropriate weathering.
- They roughly mirror the shape of the sole of the boot on the sides and are fairly flat on top.
- They sit over the wearer’s boots on the big toe, covering approximately one half of the toe of the boot.
- Each toe armor piece has an inner spike. The spike is ivory in color with a silver base and doesn’t protrude past the end of the boot.
- Toe Armor is weathered to match visual references.

| Optional Accessories
|
|
Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.

Blaster
- The blaster is made of a solid material such as metal, fiberglass, resin, styrene, sintra or Vac-formed ABS.
- Blaster is silver or chrome in color with a matte black finish on the handle grips.
- The barrel is approximately 234mm long.
- The chamber has recessed grooves.

|
|
Long Rifle
- The rifle is modeled after a Black powder musket.
- Scope is modeled like screen version but does not have to be working,
