Gideon Hask was a loyal member of the Imperial special forces team Inferno Squad, decades after it was believed he was killed at the battle of Jakku, Hask reappeared as a First Order Officer in command of the Star Destroyer Retribution, overseeing Project Resurrection.

In the page below, items listed in blue are optional features that will improve the quality of the costume. Items listed in red are intended to further enhance the finished costume. This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.
- This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Details on construction may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum.
- GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum.
- Measurements given in this document are intended to be approximate and generalized; not criteria for approval.
- Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.
- Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. GML's and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume.

Face and Hair
- The short cut hair is brown with salt and pepper coloring.
- Short cut brownish beard and mustache and graying sideburns.
- A healed scar begins at the costumers left cheek area and runs down to the chin. The scar is lighter than the costumers skin tone, and hair is missing from the areas that the scar is present in.

First Order Hat, Dark Charcoal Grey
- The front brim is a black leather-like material. It is curved and does not obscure the wearer's eyes.
- The hat fits snugly on the head.
- There is a tall brim around the back half of the hat. This piece is not higher than the dome of the hat and is vertical with a slight tilt outwards around the sides and back.
- The First Order emblem is centered in the front of the hat's dome. It is black and white.
- The base hat is made from the same material as the tunic.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
- First Order insignia is a metal pin, centered in the front of the hat's dome.
- The dome has a subtle curved seam separating the front panel from rest of the hat, with a similar seam on the back part of the dome, with one vertical seam down the dome's back.

OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable):
- There is top stitching at the base of the dome above the brim.
|

|
Tunic, First Order, Dark Charcoal Grey
- Fabric is a medium weight, dark charcoal grey drill or suiting material.
- The tunic is fitted to the wearer.
- The closures are hidden inside the opening of the tunic.
- A single seam is present at the rear the whole length of both sleeves, and a visible seam line separates the sleeve from the straight cuff portion on both sleeves and is below the rank band on left arm.
- A blank First Order rank insignia is attached on the left arm.
- Two cylinder loops are present on each side intersecting with the front chest seams.
- The collar is snugly fitting, classic-style, and has a visible closure panel across the front of the neck.
- Front: The front seams on the chest curve back into the torso intersecting the cylinder loops.
- There are four seams at the front of the bottom of the tunic two each side of the buckle starting under the belt.
- The tunic is open to the front below the belt in the center.
- Back:There are princess seams on the back.
- There is a seam to the rear of each side of the torso from under the arm continuing to the bottom.
- 2 seams on the skirting are present at the back continuing from the princess seams.
- On the back below the belt there is a center vent.

Rank Insignia, Commander First Order
- Worn on the left side of arm, above the wrist and below the elbow and is a black band sewn down to the sleeve.
- The edges of the bands utilize white piping or a white embroidered line on each side.
- The rank bar is void of detailing.

|
Jodphur Trousers, Dark Charcoal Grey
- Fabric is a medium weight Dark charcoal grey drill or suiting material matching the tunic.
- Flared riding breeches have subtle, semi-stiff flares in the hip/thigh area, below the tunic and above the knee.
- There is a fold on the legs creased from back to front, directly below the jodphur flares, tucking tightly into the boots, over the knees.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
- The fold-over detail at the knee ends in a subtle strap made from the same fabric as the trousers, which is secured at the inseam of each leg.

Officer Boots, First Order
- Knee-high, black, lace-less, smooth non-textured, leather or leather-like material, with moderate to high-gloss shine.
- There are no stretch panels, buckles, snap tabs, or decoration.
- Boot seams closely match screen-used boots.
- Soles are flat.
- If zippers are present, they are on the inner part of the boot shaft.

- Boots have a zipper on the inner shaft.
- Seams and design match screen-used boots.

Gloves, First Order
- Gloves are constructed of a non-textured, black leather or leather-like material.
- Gloves are have enclosed fingers, are fitted, and worn underneath the sleeves.
- No visible buckles, straps, or ornamentation.

|
|
Belt, First Order
- The belt is constructed from a black, non-textured leather or a leather-like material.
- The belt is approximately 2" to 2.5" in width.
- Belt fits snugly over the natural waist of the wearer.
- There are no loops on the belt.
- Sizing holes on either side of the buckle are acceptable.
- The buckle is constructed from a horizontally brushed metal, or metal-looking material.
- Buckle is free of decoration, greeblies or insignia.
- Buckle is rectangular, with sharp-angled edges, approximately 4.5" to 5.5" long & 2" to 3" high.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
- Belt is made of leather.
- There are no sizing holes
- Buckle has a slight horizontal curve.
- The belt is high gloss.

|
Holster, black
- The holster is affixed on the costumers right and begins just below the buckle. There is a metal tongue connector which affixes under the main buckle there is a small rivet adjacent to it.
|

- The holster gloss matches the belt.
|
|
|
|
Code Cylinders
- Four (4) code cylinders, two on each side of the tunic.
- Cylinders are smooth tubes, with a lip at the top and an indented bottom.
- There is a metal clip attached to the top, extending one third of the way down the cylinder.
- Both cylinders and clips are silver in color.

|
|
Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.
